War Has Come

Trade in the Heartland Valley has always relied on bartering. The southern provinces, however, have recently adopted a coin-based system of currency, and their patience with the Heartlanders has run thin. They demanded the common folk adopt their currency, or be cut from their trade routes.

In response, the folk of the Heartland unanimously agreed to go on strike. They would no longer supply the south with their crops, fish, and lumber as long as the southdemanded they use coins to trade.

The provincial governors convened to discuss the matter. By the end of the week, they had banded the provinces together under the banner of the Provincial Trade Coalition (PTC)  and declared war on the citizens of the Heartland Valley.

The war has been going on for three years, with no end in sight. In Minted in Blood, players take on members of the [RESISTANCE], striking back at the PTC wherever they are able. Through force, guile, or charm, they work to bring the Coalition to its knees.

In Development!

Minted in Blood is Chubby Crow Games' largest game yet!

With 16 class playbooks (like the Engineer, the Thief, the Magiturge, and the Gambler) and a lovingly crafted setting with plenty of blank space to make it your own, it's still got a long ways to go. However, I'm very excited for this project, so I'm going to start making Devlog posts with my progress from time to time.

In the meantime...

Why not check out the other games in the Tales from the Heartland collection?

Set 100 years after the Trade Wars, play farmers, fishers, miners, and other workers using abandoned battlefield mechs to help with their daily lives. Complete jobs for your town, calm wayward spirits, and even fall in love in the pastoral post-war Mectors.

Set even further in the future, humanity has left for the stars, giving Mother Earth's magic and natural life to reclaim the world. This is a solo journaling game in which you play a crow leaving their nest for the first time in search of a home. Meet other animals, talk to strange spirits, and make a life for yourself in As the Crow Flies.

Set at the same time as As the Crow Flies, but very, very far away from the Old World. Very much in the style of Mectors, play farmers, hullscrappers, scouts, spiriturges, and traders on a generation ship in the void between stars. Deal with spirits, fix the ship when it's damaged, and sail ever farther into the cosmos in GSXX.
