Magic and Technology in Minted in Blood

Well, it's been many months since I've updated the devlog over here. Sorry about that! I've been working on other projects, and doing work on this one either in between projects, or simultaneously, but it's all been in physical notebooks, so I haven't typed anything up in quite some time. So I'm here with a big ol' lore update that pertains to the magic and tech users in Minted in Blood!

Magic in this setting is called "weaving" because it involves physically grabbing and manipulating threads of magic. Magiturges are the typical mages of the setting, though anybody can learn lesser/easier forms of weaving. Spiritualists summon spirits to act as allies and familiars, and ask those spirits to cast spells for them, like a mixture of a Final Fantasy summoner and a D&D Cleric. Engineers use mundane tools to make magical items called MECs.

This isn't any kind of "final product", but this is what I've got down for the lore behind magic at the moment, and I wanted to share it. This was kind of a big deal for me to finally type up, because the information was scattered between three physical notebooks and two google docs!

Anyway, I hope ya like it! If you've got any questions, comments, or curiosities, please leave a comment or reach out to me on twitter!
