Welcome to Space

Hundreds of years ago, humanity left the Old World behind in massive generation ships. Dozens of these ships set off into space, seeking new homes. Much of the interior of these ships was set up for farming, and humans took many plants and animals into the stars with them.

Lo-Fi Sci-Fantasy?

The Old World was full of magic, and humans brought that magic with them aboard their ships. Magicians and spiritualists are as mundane as farmers and fishers, just another part of life out here in the Void.

The spirits of the Old World came with them as well. Cut off from the Earth Mother, they changed and evolved. Most found peaceful and content lives, but some lost themselves while out in the Void, becoming wayward and chaotic.

What is Your Role?

You play as a group of individuals living on one of these ships. While violence and strife are not unheard of, there is enough to contend with when drifting through space without fighting your fellow travelers. Will you be...

  • ...a farmer, cultivating food and caring for animals?
  • ...a hullscrapper, delving into the hull of the ship to find derelict scraps?
  • ...a scout, patrolling the ship's interior to watch for threats?
  • ...a spiriturge, speaking to the spirits and helping them find their place?
  • ...a trader, carrying much needed goods and gear between hamlets?

What's Included?

  • 2 page rulebook in a landscape layout, PDF
  • 2 page rulebook in a landscape layout, PNG (in a zip file)
  • A blank grid map with the rough square mileage indicated

The variety of satisfying character options here is really impressive! A lot of 24XX games struggle to nail one power fantasy in their space constraints, and here you knocked out a ton.

Wow thank you, that means a lot! Character creation is one of my favorite parts of most games so I always try to make it fun. I'm glad you like it!

I was interested in this until I saw it was part of the Trans rights in Florida bundle.

I live in Florida.  Trans people are treated exactly the same here as everyone else.  The bill is against pedophilia, not against transgenderism.  Not allowing transgender ideology to be taught to 6 year olds isn't infringing on anybody's rights.  The bill treats teaching heterosexuality exactly the same.  It doesn't target the LGBTQ community, it is a blanket prohibition against teaching sexuality to pre-pubescent children.

The fact that you either supported this cause knowing that and thus you approve of sexualizing little kids, or else you threw your support behind the movement without researching it first, in which case your judgement is questionable, means I can't in good conscience give you any money despite the game itself looking really cool.

I'm not going to respond to your points because they're not worth responding to.

But let it be known that if my supporting the rights of trans people lost me a sale, that's a sale I didn't want in the first place.

Also, I'm trans, so like. Kindly eff off.

You're right about one things; this game does look really cool.

You rule. F that other person.

You just gained a sale!

Aw thank you so much, that genuinely means the world to me. I appreciate you, and I hope that you enjoy the game!

Oh my gosh I cannot tell you the smile this put on my face! This is one of the coolest things anybody has done since I became a game designer - thank you, it means a lot! 🥰

Oh that's great, and it's no problem!!

GSXX could be described as slick and charming. It's a fast and easy game about sailing through the stars and solving problems on your half-magical half-scientific wonder generation ship. You could be trying to investigate a missing magician now and then fighting a spirit-possessed mech next. For what is basically just three pages, you get lots of tables filled with unique settings, quests, talents and magic working smoothly under the 24XX ruleset. Really looking forward to trying it out!

Thank you so much! I'm really glad that you like it, and I'm especially glad that the setting struck your fancy 😊
